This is my dear husband. He has been my gold standard lover for almost twenty years…encouraging my every dream and desire; partnering with me as an ally in personal growth and evolution; humoring me when I lose my sense of humor and always reminding me that family matters most. Today when I am completely undone by a conversation with my Dad’s doctor, he says, “I have a song for you.” He cranks up the volume on his desktop and plays Come What May from Moulin Rouge.
COME WHAT MAY
Never knew I could feel like this
Like I have never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sing
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change, winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there’s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song and I’ll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Oh, come what may, come what may
I will love you, I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day
- MOULIN ROUGE -
And I think to myself, ah, this is why I married him!

My dear beautiful Sandy…
What an exquisite tribute to your ever-evolving, ever-loving relationship with Rod and yourself. You share one of those rare gems of life…true love for self and one another…each of you whole and complete…yet One. May I one day be so blessed…Jai Ma!!
