“Under the snow…”

There are moments when the light is extraordinary. Early morning. Late afternoon. And it changes so quickly. I fumble with my camera and think of the masters with their 8 x 10 cameras…Adams, Steichen, Weston…lugging heavy equipment and waiting for THE moment.

I think of my friend, Diana. Waiting today, at Sloan-Kettering. Perhaps thinking about HER moment. She is having a catheter inserted through an artery in her liver for direct-site chemotherapy. She is one of five people in the world to have this procedure.

Diana is strong; beautiful; passionate; brave. A woman who loves her family, her life, her friends, her work. She has held on; seen her children graduate; welcomed treatment; been in remission; been in pain; been in remission; been in pain; been in pain.

My thoughts and prayers are with Diana and with her family…this has been a long, challenging road. Perhaps you’ll join me in sending light and blessings in her direction. Whatever the outcome, our world is a richer place and Diana’s presence will always be known and felt.

FALL

The leaf that falls
enjoys the journey from limb to ground–
whether she floats gently on a breath of air
or careens on a frenzied tempest ride.
The leaf that falls clutches no fear against her crimson breast.
She goes to ground
gracefully
without regret.
I wish I could tumble
as easily out of this life and into the next
with never a doubt
that the world is unfolding as it should,
that the tree I leave behind
will survive.

    My Dear Sandy:
Please KNOW that Diana shall remain in my prayers. Your picture, Diana’s story, and the poem are just perfect. There is great healing POWER in our ability to send Light, Blessings, and Healing Thoughts to others…if only we tap into the deepest part of Self. This is where miracles occur……may Diana receive ALL and more importantly may she experience the Love that comes her way…carrying her, caressing her, embracing her on her journey. We are with Her…we are Sisters…we are One.

Always and with Blessings…I bow to you, dear One. Kathleen
